How Brickkeep works
Five minutes from an empty account to knowing where every brick belongs.
Add your storage
Your first stop is Settings. Describe each box with a letter or a range like A-E, then its rows, columns and how many compartments a drawer can have.
A place then reads like B-8-7a: box B, row 8, column 7, compartment a. Leave off the letter when a brick fills the whole drawer. Save a box again under the same letter to change it.
Put a brick away
Photograph one brick on a plain background. Brickkeep suggests the part and colour, and you confirm them.
It then shows the drawer that brick already lives in, or suggests a free spot beside the same part or an empty drawer. Pick one, say how many, and put it away. Made a mistake? Undo is one key away.
Change your mind later
Open any brick from search, the box map or Review to change its colour, replace it with another part by search or photo, move it to another drawer, or correct how many you have.
If a change would create a duplicate, Brickkeep asks before merging the two. A merge cannot be undone, so it never happens silently.
Review what looks wrong
Review lists bricks with no drawer, a drawer that does not exist in your boxes, a quantity of zero, or a quantity so large it looks like a typo. Fix them there, or leave them.
Bring your collection, take it with you
In Settings you can import a BrickAssist parts export or a Brickkeep export. Add your boxes first, or drawers that are not in your boxes will wait in Review. Importing the same file twice adds nothing, and never undoes your changes.
To get your parts out of BrickAssist, you can use a free, unofficial export script: brickassist-to-brickkeep on GitHub
You can export everything as CSV or JSON at any time.
Common questions
Is Brickkeep free?
Yes. There is a daily limit on photo scans, and a limit on how many bricks an account can hold.
What storage does it work with for LEGO® bricks?
Any boxes with drawers. You set the rows and columns of each box, and how many compartments a drawer is split into.
How does the photo recognition work?
You photograph a brick and Brickognize suggests the part and colour. You confirm the result, and Brickkeep shows the drawer where that brick belongs.
Can I bring my collection from BrickAssist?
Yes, as an import file. Part and colour numbers follow BrickLink, and Review flags the rows that need a look.
Do I need to install an app?
No. Brickkeep runs in the browser on your phone or computer.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. You can export your whole inventory as CSV or JSON whenever you like.
Is Brickkeep made by the LEGO Group?
No. Brickkeep is an independent project. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site.
